Leadership Opportunities
At St Richard’s, we value the importance of student voice. Through our leadership programs, we empower students to take an active role in our school community and contribute meaningfully to school life. These opportunities help students develop the skills and confidence to be active citizens in their world, and to understand that they can make a positive difference.
Leadership Opportunities include;
-
School Captains
-
Faith Leaders
-
House Leaders
-
Fire Carrier Leaders
-
Italian Leaders
SRC
Our Student Representative Council (SRC) fosters leadership and agency across all year levels. Each semester, one student from every class is elected to represent their peers. These representatives meet with the Student Wellbeing Leader to advocate for their classmates' ideas, ensuring that student voice drives meaningful improvements in our school.
Fire Carriers
We are proud to be part of the FIRE Carriers Program (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education), which supports students to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities while fostering respect, justice and reconciliation within our school community. Through their leadership, FIRE Carriers help educate others, celebrate significant cultural events and strengthen our shared commitment to walking together in harmony.
Faith Leaders
Our Year 5/6 students have the opportunity to apply to be a Faith Leader. These leaders support our Religious Education Leader in preparing and delivering liturgies and Masses. They are also a voice in promoting Social Justice initiatives that can support the wider St Richard’s community.
Italian Leaders
Our students have the opportunity to be Italian leaders in their classrooms. These students support the classroom teacher with Italian learning through the teaching of Italian as co-leaders. They also support the Language Leader with Italian initiatives throughout the school year.
