Grounds & Facilities
At St Richard’s, we are fortunate to have beautiful, expansive grounds, with gardens cared for by our students that attract a variety of native fauna. Time in nature is a valued part of school life, supporting students to feel calm, connected and engaged in their learning.
Students regularly engage with our gardens through hands-on experiences such as the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program and our gardening club. These opportunities allow children to grow, harvest and care for produce, developing practical skills, teamwork and a deep appreciation for the natural environment.
Research shows that connecting with nature enhances wellbeing by reducing stress, improving mood, encouraging physical activity and strengthening focus and creativity. These experiences also support resilience, social-emotional growth and a deeper sense of care for the world around them.
Our school is proud to offer outstanding purpose-built facilities that support a rich and engaging learning environment. These include a well-resourced library, a dedicated STEM room, vibrant arts spaces, and flexible shared learning areas connected to our classrooms.
Our Learning Hub provides a calm and supportive space where students can work with Learning Support Officers or take time to regulate and recharge when needed. Outside, our expansive playground offers a variety of engaging spaces where children can explore, play, and connect with others.
