A WARM WELCOME TO
St Richard's Kilsyth
Welcome to St Richard’s Primary School, Kilsyth.
St Richard’s is a place where every child is seen, known and encouraged to grow. With just over 165 students, our smaller size allows us to truly connect with each child and family, building strong relationships and a genuine sense of community where everyone feels at home.
We believe in setting clear, high expectations and supporting students to meet them. Our Positive Behaviours for Learning approach helps children understand how to learn, interact and contribute positively, both in the classroom and in the wider world. Learning at St Richard’s is purposeful, engaging and tailored to help each student reach their full potential.
Our teaching team is committed to delivering a structured, evidence-informed academic program. Through a combination of Explicit Instruction, specialist subjects, targeted Literacy and Numeracy support, and Learning Support Officers in every classroom, we ensure that all students are supported, challenged and given every opportunity to succeed.
As a Catholic school, our values underpin all that we do. We foster a culture of inclusion, respect and care, and work closely with families to support the development of each child — academically, socially and spiritually. Our goal is to nurture confident, respectful, compassionate and resilient young people who are ready to make a meaningful contribution to their world.

Strong
Curriculum
At St Richard’s, we deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum that uses evidence-based, sequenced teaching to build strong academic foundations. By designing cumulative learning experiences that connect new ideas to prior knowledge, we ensure every student is equipped for long-term success.

Connection to Nature - Grounds & Facilities
St Richard’s offers expansive natural grounds and specialized facilities, including a dedicated STEM center, Arts buildings, and a wellbeing hub, to foster a calm and focused learning environment. Through programs like the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, students build practical skills and resilience while connecting deeply with nature and their community.

Positive Behaviours
for Learning
Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) is a whole-school approach that fosters a positive, safe and inclusive environment for all students. It supports children to develop respectful behaviours, make positive choices and act with kindness and integrity in all aspects of school life.
